    No windows 7 aero feature?!


    I have recently upgraded to windows 7 64bit and do not have the aero feature. Also, a ran a tool that tests if your system is capable of playing blu ray and it said my graphics card was not compatible.

    I have the following motherboard which has an Integrated ATI Radeon HD4200:

    Asus M4A785D-M PRO 785G Socket AM3 DVI VGA HDMI Out 8 Channel Audio MATX Motherboard - Ebuyer

    Do I need a new graphics card? Any suggestions?

    Install the driver.

    http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx

    Choose motherboard/integrated drivers for x64.

    The HD4200 is quite good and will handle whatever you throw at it.

    Hi Stecally and welcome to the forums...

    You will need a card that meets the following requirements in order to use Aero in windows 7...

    Minimum Hardware Requirements for running Windows 7 Aero:
    # 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
    # 1 GB of RAM
    # 128 MB graphics card

    Aero also requires a DirectX 9 class graphics processor that supports a Windows Display Driver Model Driver, Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware, and 32 bits per pixel

    You may also need to run the WEI if you haven't already. Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Performance Information and Tools.
