Visually Impaired Monitor Resolution
Given the end of support for Win XP, I've just updated my father-in-law's computer to Win 7 Ultimate.
He is significantly visually impaired. On the Win XP system, I had his 1024x768 monitor set to 800x600 so that everything was larger. Given that he has an LCD monitor, it wasn't ideal but it worked for him.
Now with Win 7 installed and the resolution set to 800x600, the the windows screen is smaller and centered in the screen with a large black border. i.e. changing the resolution did nothing to enlarge everything.
I'm currently looking for a way around this problem but have yet to find a solution.
His system has Win 7 Ultimate on an Acer Aspire M1201 with a RS740 Display adapter (ATI Redeon 2100) and a Novatek 563A Monitor (19").
I also tried a 28" 1920x1200 monitor and got the same results except the black border was larger. Therefore, I assume that the issue is caused by either Win 7 or the graphics driver.
Any ideas?
