    nvidia drivers overstretch screen

    Hi guys,

    First of all my specs...
    Intel qx9650
    Asus Striker 2 formula mb
    9800gx2 gpu
    Veiwsonic Vx2835wm monitor

Ive recently installed windows 7 Ultimate64x and are having troubles with nvidia drivers.

What happens is that as soon as either Windows, or myself, install nvidia drivers it over stretches my screen. I tried with the latest drivers (191.07) and the older ones (185.85) with the same issue. I was reading that I should put all resolutions to native (1900x1200) and adjust the screen through nvidia control panel. This I cannot do because the nvidia control panel says I cant adjust it with the kind of signal it is receiving, which is through a dvi to hdmi cable.

I manage to stop it from over stretching by uninstalling the drivers and just running a generic windows driver

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm having this same issue with the overstretching....the resolution is on my native resolution of 1680*1050, NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT with the latest drivers installed. I am waiting on a reply email from the manufacturer of my LCD which is Viewsonic VA2226w to see if they have drivers for Windows 7, because I don't know which is the culprit...the monitor or the graphics card lol

I am going to try the OP's uninstalling NVIDIA drivers and see if that corrects mine too

You might want to try the Troubleshooter in control pannel just before u uninstall NVIDIA drivers.

The troubleshoot button to change settings is grayed out and I can't use it...I did uninstall the drivers but the reinstalled automatically when I rebooted lol

Viewsonic reckon it's the nvidia drivers so I think I am stuck with this until nvidia fixes it....if they do, in the meantime I am going to buy a vga to dvi cable and see if that helps, at least if it lets me then adjust it manually via the OSD controls which are currently grayed out too

I too am having trouble with NVIDIA 64-bit driver 191.07. When I set the drivers to HD resolutions (on HDTV or computer monitor) I can't set the size. When I select resize the display is so large the sliders are off the screen. I hope this gets fixed in the next release of NVIDIA drivers.

I have been having this issue too. But even on my tv cause my resolution is too high it needs to lower them in order to project it on my tv. Since nvidia changed their driver and they do not support the display full screen on tv function I am having this problem
