    100% CPU / Downloaded files corrupted /

From time to time, my CPU rises to 100% and pretty much lags me out from doing anything.

    - I have all the latest drivers installed.

    - sometimes, the CPU is fine, and when im done downloading a song or a .zip file, the files end up being corrupted or the song ends up skipping because it wasnt downloaded correctly.

    - videos on youtube tend to load very slowly at times, and its not just from the server ive tested the same videos with my laptop and all runs smooth.

I was wondering is this because of my Video card or possibly my Power supply ? im not to sure whats causing the problem. And I dont see any certain program pop out as being overworked. Firefox is being used the most at around 50% and Ive only got Winamp/ZA Firewall and Firefox open with all this lag still.

    - All of my drivers are currently updated from Windows update

Heres my system specs, any recommendations or probable upgrades I should do to my Pc/ Or help is greatly appreciated

    CPU: Intel Pent 4 3.06GHZ, 3065 Mhz, 1 Core (2 Logical processors)
Memory: 2 GIGS of DDR2 RAM
    VIDEO: Geforce 9500 GT
    Power Supply: 300 Watts

I remember before installing Windows 7, windows 7 advisor said theres probably going to be problems running Windows Aero with my Graphics card.

No, your graphics card should be working perfectly well with Aero. I highly doubt it has anything to do with power supply.

I'm beta testing ZoneAlarm Extreme myself and have found it to be excellent. They just put a new version which you might want to get and install. You can upgrade without removing the old one.

Here is a link to that: https://www.zonealarm.com/security/e...A-60day-1user#

But what you should really do is use the backup feature found within ZoneAlarm so it saves to your documents folder.

Then completely uninstall ZoneAlarm from your system. You can restore your settings from the backup easily when you want to reinstall.

Point is, get that off your system and then tell us how things are.

We have similar CPU and you use all the same apps as me. Nice.

Another recomendation, although it's unlikely will fix anything, is to visit NVidia's site and install the driver for your graphics card from there. WU drivers...well....are WU drivers...even though they are from the manufacturer too.

Here is the graphics driver you should be using: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_wi...1.07_whql.html

And very good luck to you!

I've uninstalled ZA / and also reinstalled my Video Drivers, once rebooted my PC is starting to run very laggy, as if my memory is being drained.

My music is playing very slowly, and laggy with a robot sounding echo whenever firefox is loading images or downloading files.

Any ideas what this problem is about ?

I'm really tempted to just go back to Xp as much as I hate it , it runs extremely fast and no problems.

Well, seems that audio is always involved in your trials and when you say things aren't running well. Give me a little while to see if I could locate the audio driver I think you should be using. You can try installing that if/when I post again with a link.

All current drivers are installed, still lagging. If im playing music withouth doing anything else on the computer it plays perfectly fine. Once I open up firefox, and browse through websites music starts playing in slow motion and laggy.

Which Firefox version? And are you using a large list of plugins?
