Nvidia 335.23 driver fails to install on GE620 laptop with Win7

I downloaded recent driver for GT540M from Nvidia site, but it says "install failed". I've only been able to install driver from MSI site, from 2011 (Win7_64_HDA(268.12).exe). I've tried deleting GT540M from device manager, tried clicking "update driver" there and pointing it to the Nvidia extracted folder, but nothing worked, tried 10 times at least. I've always installed new Nvidia drivers without any hiccups, just the recent 335.23 driver fails. But now older versions from 2013 won't install either. I would like to fix that without reinstalling Windows preferably.

Is there some reason you need that driver ?

You are doing a custom/clean install correct ?

Well yeah optimus dual-gpu switching works better on new drivers, and clean install fails too.

And how do you know that ?

This is something I never recommend, but since you have a laptop. Have you just let windows try to install the driver or have you tried windows update ?

It seems like nVidia is coming out with a new driver every other week, if there`s nothing in it that will benefit you, there`s no need to jump on it right away.

Sonic Generations for example. Nvidia fixed many other games too, so I did benefit from the newer drivers from 2011 to 2014, until now when it failed for the first time. Windows updates only the Intel driver.

I can tell you the problems lies with where you got the driver Laptops are only suppost to get Driver support from the Manufacturer and you went outside of that

It will not install because you are using Mobile GPU which have their own driver /Vs mainstream GPU drivers

I suggest you go to The Laptops site and see if they update drivers for you if not you will have to keep the one's that work till they release one
