Here are a few more things you could try to fix your issue;
Go to your motherboard manufacturer's website. Download and install any recent BIOS update.
Instead of using the 9.1 driver, use a much less recent one like 8.12
Finally, a hassle free and convenient way of manipulating display properties is to use Power Strip by EnTech which can be downloaded from here.
Note: Please read the site FAQs/Help before attempting to play around with your resolution. Use only the resolution that you think is right for your display. Improper use or forcing your hardware to exceed it's max rated performance might permanently damage your hardware.
I updated and used the old graphic driver but it still wont work
Did you try 9.1 not using compatibility mode? It shouldn't need vista compatibility mode. (it didn't for me)
Instead of reinstalling 7, try booting into safe made and use a restore point in future.
Have you tried removing the failed cat drivers in safe mode and then rebooting to let 7 install it's own drivers to let you 'start from scratch'?
(get a working desktop again)
Hi lah
You have to use the Cat 8.12 agp hotfix_vista 32, works fine try it.
k i used the Cat 8.12 agp hotfix_vista 32, and when i restarted the computer it said it does not funtion with the current hardware, and now im back to the same problem .
I never had any problems with this graphics card, only in windows 7. Anyone have a x800 and uses 7?
I tried the 8.3 driver for xp on windows 7 with compatibility mode and the resolutions and graphics card get recognized but the areo wont work.
I know this is my third post in a row , but does anyone know exactly why this is happening? Its frustrating ..
Out of curiosity and part of isolating the problem, what type of video cable are you using and monitor model?
As reported by many users, changing cable type resolves some video issues and it's also very useful to know the native resolution of your monitor for this case of yours.
The monitor and cables were already discussed, I think windows7 is not supporting my card =/........ And windows vista does.
The main problem is Windows 7 is not supporting my card and windows vista is, therefore they lose customers...Unless they do a driver update =)
