    AddRAM said:
Right it`s 2 GB per gpu. But you don`t add them together, just as I don`t benefit from the other 2 GB on my second 770.
That's why I want to upgrade my GTX 690.
For a resolution of 4800x1200 (3 screens @1600x1200) 2 GB of VRAM are not enough in certain situations.
And GeForce cards have bad performance in GPGPU/double precision (except of Titan series). AMD cards destroy them.

The cards are Basically neck and neck anyways The TI does beat it in a lot of areas though

My card VS 690 4GB GeForce GTX 690 vs GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 780 Ti

Well even though the R9 290x is cheaper, the 780 ti makes more sense to buy if I were you. Radeon R9 290X vs GeForce GTX 780 Ti
Or maybe the ASUS MARS 760 but I'm not sure about it.

The Asus Mars 760 would be a downgrade from the 690, IMO. It still only has 2 GB per GPU.

R9 290X has a lot better performance in OpenCL/GPGPU than Geforce cards, included Titan series...

1 r9 290x will be better in most situations to your gtx690.

horsepower isnt the issue here but regardless the 290x is faster in most tests.
id swap it for the 780ti if it were me.

I'm trying to sell my GTX 690 for 600€. Here in italy a new GTX 690 costs 950-1000€...

Then I'll buy 2 used R9 290X, I'm finding a lot of people who sells them for 350€.
