Does buying a new video card require the uninstallation n reinstall...

I guess my question was too long but....
Does buying a new video card require the uninstallation n reinstallation of media software, codec packs etc.
I'm in the process of buying a new video card to replace my current one and since there are a few media software (Media monkey, VLC, GOM, Windows MP), codec packs (klite), and stuff like games and Photoshop which depend on such a card I was wondering if this would mean having to uninstall and reinstall all of these.

Only thing you might have to un-install and re-install is the Drivers for your GPU! All your software will be fine.

Jeepman is correct, as usual. All you need to do is completely uninstall the old video drivers, all of them, when it tells you to restart, shut down instead. Unplug the computer, drain the residual power, install the new card, start the computer and install the new drivers which you should have downloaded already from Nvidia or AMD depending on what your new card is. When you get to the desktop, install the new drivers. All of your software should work just fine.
