Can I increase dedicated video RAM to play this game?

I want to play Age of Mythology Extended Edition on my HP Elitebook 2730p laptop. When I use systemrequirementslab.com to figure out if my laptop can handle it, it says this:

Video Card Minimum: DirectX 10 (Intel Integrated HD Graphics 3000, ATI Radeon X1950, NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT) You Have: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family Upgrade Suggested
Click here for the latest Video Card drivers.
Features: Minimum attributes of your Video Card

    ....................................Required............You Have
    Pixel Shader version ...... 4.0................. 4.0
    Vertex Shader version ... 4.0................. 4.0
Dedicated Video RAM ..... 256 MB........... 64 MB
Supposedly the only issue would be the dedicated video RAM. Can this be increased without buying a new graphics card? If you need more information please let me know.

I dont believe dedicated video ram can be upgraded without putting a different card in; as dedicated video ram is just that; dedicated to graphics.

In other posts when I searched people mentioned changing it in BIOS. Is it still true that that's possible? Since reading some of those, my question has changed a bit to: can I change that with my particular computer, and if so, how? I've never messed with BIOS before and only vaguely know what it is.

Also, how much of a difference does it really make? I've played several similar games on this otherwise that run fine.

Don't go messing with your system memory. Of course, it would help if we knew how much RAM you had installed to start with. Please fill in your system specs.

    You cannot increase dedicated memory.

dedicated memory is memory that the gpu itself has.

youre getting things confused with shared memory.
laptops with shared memory often have settings im the bios to increase the amount that can be shared.

    Okay, thanks, everyone.

Do you think the game would be unplayable if I got it anyway?

You'd be able to run it, but it'll be unplayable

I have the Intel Mobile 965M express chip with, like you 64mb of dedicated vram. And i also have the Age of Mythology abd i can run the game just fine so don't worry, you can run it at a decent framerate. You can even run Counter-Strike Source in 720p with shader and model detail to max and still have a playable framerate.
