You can't do 'cheapest' and expect maximum performance. However, $400 isn't a bad budget and you should be looking at a GTX 770. Personally I'd look at an ASUS Direct CU II, if you're gaming on one monitor at 1080p then the 2GB version will be plenty, don't bother with the 4GB. It won't max out every single game at max (Crysis 3, Last Light, Witcher to name a few will tax it) but it will handle most of them and will give great performance.

Hello VXER and welcome to SF :)

$400 is a good budget and as Boozad mentioned GTX 770 I think that would be the best option for you. I'm using ASUS GTX 760 DirectCU II 2GB and I play almost every game on maxed out settings though I have a native screen resolution of 1440x900 and 1600x900 on the other screen so that's the thing I guess that I'm able to play on good frames.

Exactly. That's why there are budget, mid range and high end cards. A sliding scale of performance.

But as mentioned the GTX 770 will give you the best performance for your budget.

    Great,thanks for the reply guys.
And now 2 more questions have came up (sry)...
    n1 i toke a look around and there is more than a type of a 770 :

EVGA GeForce GTX770 SuperClocked with EVGA ACX Cooler, 2GB GDDR5 256bit
EVGA GeForce GTX 770 Superclocked with ACX Cooler 4 GB GDDR5
    EVGA GeForce GTX760 SuperClocked w/EVGA ACX Cooler 2GB GDDR5 256bit
    PNY NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 2GB GDDR5
    Gigabyte GTX 770 GDDR5-2GB 2xDVI/HDMI/DP OC WINDFORCE 3X Graphics Card GV-N770OC-2GD

question is which 770 is the best now ? i'm running on a 23 1920x1080 screen (one only).

n2 will the best 770 run Watch Dogs with everything maxed out (ultra) and still get 60 fps ?

You've listed a 4GB there when I've already said you won't need that on one monitor, the 2GB versions will be fine. I also said my preferred choice would be an ASUS DirectCU II. Any of the ones you listed will do the same job though. Just look for the highest clock speed.

You will still get good performance on Watch_Dogs with a 770, just don't smash everything up to max.
