Screen resolution will not display 1920x1080

    Are you using a D-Sub Port to connect your laptop to your TV? D-Sub can only max the resolution on TV up to 1366X768 only.

    So I discovered that if I uninstall ATI 4200 display driver I can move my display up to 1440x1050 which is still way below my capabilities. However the moment the display driver reinstalls automatically the display jumps back down to 1330x768.

    Any clue as to whats going on?

    I didn't realize we were on page 2. I have it connected through a vga connetion.

    Does the laptop have an hdmi port ?

    If it does, connect it to the tv with an HDMI cable.

    But according to this, it doesn`t.

    Exactly, VGA on any TVs will only support up to 1366x768 resolution.
