My graphic card isn't functioning properly, games/videos won't load

I've been having this problem for a while now, and I stopped using my Windows desktop and started using my Chromebook instead. I just got back into using my desktop again, and I restarted it factory fresh.

After installing all possible Windows updates, installing the latest graphics drivers, and installing Directx 11, I can't get my game to run. And videos still don't play, that's strange because I restarted my OS. I thought this would be fixed. I can't even run Sony Vegas Pro 12. There's something wrong with my graphics card.

When I access dxdiag, the program crashes. The next time I run it, it says that it had trouble running Direct3D, and if I would like to bypass it. When I check the display tab, I can only see the name of my graphics card "AMD Radeon 6570". But I can't see the manufacturer name or anything else like I usually could before this problem.

If there's a solution for this, I would greatly appreciate the support.

i understand you've formatted your HDD and Reinstalled Windows and updates, and installed all drivers for all your hardware.
Since you did a fresh install with latest drivers I assume you have installed the latest AMD catalyst Software suite.

When you check Control panel\Device manager\Display adapters and double click on your GFx card, does it show anything unusual?
Also, post your DxDiag logfile if you can.

Btw, i am no computer expert or IT guy, i just like building computers, but i will try to help you if i can :).

I've checked my display adapter in device manager, everything seems normal. Says device is working properly. So it seems to be plugged in.

I ran this tool, and I didn't see anything unusual. No artifacts, and I let the temperature rise from 50F to 85F, then I stopped the test. Was there a log file for this that I can post?

My computer is doing the same exact thing!! It won't play videos at all, unless they're through Chrome. It was working fine just a few days ago, but now the only game I can play is Age of Mythology. None of my other games work at all, they either do nothing when I run them or crash at startup. If I try and play a video through Windows Media Player or VLC, they both crash immediately. I tried looking up some information in my System tab of Control Panel, but it crashes every time I click on that and resets Windows Explorer. Also, I had the same thing happen, where dxdiag crashes. Have you figured out yet how to get it working? I can't seem to figure it out. :/

@ TheCrazyMicrobe Sadly, it's been almost an entire year since this problem occured, I still couldn't get an answer on how to fix this. So I'm just thinking that I need to get a new graphics card. And to get one just as good as the one I have, it will cost about $100 for a 2 GB AMD.
I wanted to try flashing my bios, but for some reason I can't find the bios for my graphics card. It's an AMD Radeon HD 6570 , manufactured by AMD. No such bios exists for this 2011 graphics card.

I've given up on my computer entirely, and restarted it factory fresh. This hasn't fixed the problem, but it will keep my computer fresh at least. I now primarily use my Chromebook, it's been a year since I started using this Chromebook.

If you find the solution to this, I'd appreciate it if you posted here!

@Matt Dang. I definitely will let you know if I find something. Unfortunately for me, I'm on a laptop, so replacing the card isn't an option. And I'm not the smartest when it comes to computers, so I'm kinda lost, but I'm DEFINITELY going to keep looking for an answer. If I find anything, I'll be sure to post it here.

Its weird, but most computer problems are... Do you get any error or notification when you start a game? Maybe there is something in your logs(eventvwr.exe) that could give an indication of where the problem might be.
If you can switch or replace the graphics card, you could try borrowing a working one from somewhere.
Be sure to remove any installation/drivers for the card you are taking out of the pc.
If it works with the borrowed card then, to be sure, switch back to the old card, reinstall the latest correct driver, and try if it works now, if it fails again then you can be certain there is a hardware problem with the card.

I do realize not everybody has a second graphics card just lying around, so you could take the card out of your computer and put it in another one(a friend's pc?) and see what happens then.
If it is a laptop, then i can't think of much, other than sending it to the manufacturer and let them work it out.
Working with computer hardware is always risky, so if your computer explodes when you take the graphics card out, don't blame me hihi :) .

This isn't an easy problem to fix, unless we were experts ourselves. I'm not good with handling the insides of a computer, so things are just going to end up being more expensive to fix. I would have to be lucky enough to know a computer expert friend to help me test the graphics card.
All kinds of weird things happen with my computer, it's unexplainable. Like how Java randomly crashes, even the java updater.
Lightshot also crashes upon startup. Just makes me want to give up on this computer forever, it doesn't even have a monitor. Just a malfunctioning monitor that has dimming problems. This is why I switched to using my Chromebook in the end.
I got this desktop computer back in 2011 in July, and 3 months later the hard drive fails on me. It was weird because a hacker said he'd hack me, then all of a sudden I get blue screen, and my hard drive stopped working.
So I had to get a new one with warranty.
Then the SD port doesn't want to read SD cards anymore for some reason.
This graphics problem started in Oct 2013. I played emulators a lot on it, to play my Gamecube and PS2 games on my computer.

I also posted this issue on another forum, they couldn't figure out my problem either. Not unless I tried flashing my bios to see if that fixes it.
My $700 HP-Elite desktop is going in the trash.
