GTX Titan twice the $$ of 780 6 GB?

Can someone explain why the GTX Titan 6 GB is twice as expensive as the GTX 780 6 GB? Performance-wise, I'm getting from a couple of online comparisons that the GTX Titan only marginally exceeds the 780 6 GB.

So, for what kind of user is the GTX Titan a better choice? In my case, it will be 3D modeling, texturing and rendering (with a GPU-accelerated renderer).

the gtx titan has everything fully unlocked as well as double precision ram. making it perfect for gaming and content creating. where as the 780ti is purley aimed at gamers.

Thanks. I read about double precision RAM before posting this thread. I couldn't get a sense of what it means in actual use, way too technical for me. For content creation and GPU rendering how is it an advantage (short version if that's possible)?

OP again, after looking around a little more, I don't think an explanation of what double precision floating point means for my application is necessary. I'm sold on the Titan.
