Windows 7 Premium 64 bit, reset to Basic

Over the past several months have had issues with Nvidia and their 3d vision. In working with them, they gave me their link to their site to test the 3d. When I clicked on their link I immediately got a pop up window need to reconfigure Windows 7 to basic to operate properly for this site. Clicked ok. Now have lost much software associated with Premium. Including Aero, so now Nvidia does not work at all.
This just happened a couple days ago.
What is the best way to get back to the Windows 7 Premium? Can I just revert back the computer a few days ago?
A friend is coming by later today that knows much more about computers than I, he stated we might need to back up, loose everything, and reinstall Windows again. I really don't want to do that, really.

I suppose doing a restore point would be best. Unless anyone has anything else to say.
If my friend decided to uninstall Nvidia, I do have Revo uninstaller, to do a through job, or just doing a clean reinstall might be ok?

Because, such features as Aero, for Nvidia, is no longer available at this level. The Nvidia site stated computer reset to basic. Aero and other needed software, and hardware now not available.

This computer is not that old, and have been going back and forth with Nvidia since last April, when they had a driver update, that evidently did not do very well, and their system has not worked properly since. To make a long story a bit shorter, everytime they give me a link and update, it only gets worse, up to a couple days ago, when their link wanted to reset everything, so that now nothing works.

Again not that good on computers. I do know Areo, and Nvidia 3d is now totally inoperable. So I can, perhaps wrongfully, that anything associated with Premium, is disabled also.
