Hello everyone is my first post here I try found a solution in google and in this forum but anyone work with me!

I have a computer with 12GB of RAM and a GTX 760 2GB

My Shared system memory is wrong because I saw here the have a
math about (( your memory - 512 mb ) / 2 = Shared system memory but for me doesn't work

in this math my shared memory needed be 5888MB but the windows just choice a 2048MB

How could I fix it?

Thank's

Shared system memory is dynamic, it changes with how you use it.

Because of the extensive use of graphics in the Windows Vista and later desktop and DirectX games, software that runs on Windows Vista and later should be able to accurately determine the amount of available graphics memory. WDDM manages the virtualization of graphics memory in itself and also ensures accurate reporting of various aspects of graphics memory. Application developers and software vendors should take advantage of the DirectX version 10 APIs for retrieving the accurate set of graphics memory values on computers that have Windows Vista display drivers.

Welcome to the forum.

The "Shared System Memory" number refers to the total memory that can be shared with the video system. This will be determined by the video system. How much actually is shared is dynamic and changes according to needs.

The formula "( your memory - 512 mb ) / 2 = Shared system memory" refers to some specific situation and is by no means universal. Most likely it means the maximum memory that could be shared, within the limits imposed by the video system. As I have not seen the post in question this is only a guess.

Edit: In your case the actual limit imposed by the video system is 2048 MB as shown in the screenshot.

Unless you're running games over multiple monitors, using 3D monitors or have a resolution above 1920 x 1080 then 2GB VRAM should be fine anyway. If you're not using any of the aforementioned setups I wouldn't even worry about shared video RAM.

They reckoned BF4 would need 4GB VRAM.
