    Strange Graphical Glitches


    I'm running an 8800GT with the latest drivers on a Samsung Synchmaster 2233 21.5" monitor. I'm getting weird screen problems like this:

    This is a "smear effect". If I scroll the window or move it around, these stay in place. Seems particularly bad in MDI applications like mIRC. The vanish when the screen refreshes.

    I honestly don't know what 's causing it, but it's very annoying.

    "Weird screen problems" usually = blown capacitors on video card.

    Badcaps.net - How To Identify

    They are easily replaced. Get low or ultra low esr type if you try. Match ratings to original spec as best as possible.

    Ensure latest video driver is in use too.
