    Blu ray?

I have an Asus M4A785D-M PRO 785G motherboard which has an integrated Radion 4200 (shown below).

Asus M4A785D-M PRO 785G Socket AM3 DVI VGA HDMI Out 8 Channel Audio MATX Motherboard - Ebuyer

I have Windows 7 64bit, a blu ray drive and use a HD TV. When I run a check to see if my system is capable of playing blu ray the results say that the integrated graphics card (Radion HD4200) cannot play blu ray although I have been advised that it can.

A blu ray disc does in fact play but im wondering if I am receiving the best possible image quality?

    Any suggestions? New graphics card?

I doubt running an integrated graphics card will get you the best video.

What are you running to get the check?? and to be truthful I dont think you would see the difference between your video card now and a newer one? My ATI 3200 can run Blu-Ray Disc and if you could see the difference in that and a 4200 I would be shocked.

Get Media Player Classic then in View>Options>Internal Filters uncheck H264/AVC (FFmpeg) and VC1(FFmpeg) to enable full hardware(your HD 4200) decode of HD media. Also just so you know the 780G and 785G chipsets are not able to support 8channel LPCM audio over HDMI only 2 channel... you would need to use your motherbaords S/PDIF out to your receiver or TV or use a discreet card as they have an audio controller onboard.

Thanks for your help. You have lost me regarding 8channel LPCM audio over HDMI though! I'm playing my audio through the TV using the HDMI cable and the sound seems to be ok...

HD 4200 handles Blu-Ray and all HD video superbly. I know because my 3850 does.

    4200 > 3850

Here's settings for hardware acceleration (uses gpu, cpu will be like 10% usage while playing)

Thats in the eye of the beholder.
If you are playing blu ray then you have half the battle won!
The only factor that would improve your viewing pleasure would be the output device. IE: Your display!
