I come here to look for help because I've noticed that if I boot my PC and I have my monitor turned off the computer won't boot, it doesn't even turn my keyboard lights on, and if I turn the monitor on it shows a no output message.
Would like to know if this is related to my graphics card and how to fix it.

you can also check the power connection to the motherboard is tightly in there, check and make sure that the power cord is in the power supply good, and last if not done already make sure that another device will work in that outlet.

Sorry for late response, I have done what you instructed me and so far so good, the PC is booting normally
I'm surprised that those suggestions worked.
Someone explain to me why having your monitor turned off would make a diff as to how the system boots? I'm not being snarky. I really don't get it. Why would it matter to the system whether the monitor was powered up or not?
I'm not sure that makes sense to me. Are you saying that the BIOS won't allow the machine to post or load the OS because the BIOS doesn't see a monitor attached to the video card?

He didn't say "the PC doesn't boot if I disconnect my monitor from the vid card". When my PC boots, it turns my monitor on, automatically. If I manually turn off my monitor then boot my PC, the monitor comes back on. If I disconnect my monitor from the vid card, I'd have to remote in thru the network to see it, but it boots and does everything that my system does when the monitor is hooked up. This guy couldn't even get his keyboard to react...
Now, if Startup Repair did the job for him, I guess this is all moot. And if re-seating his vid card did the job, then, cool. I just couldn't understand how having the monitor turned on or off made a diff when booting. From the original post, I got the impression that everything booted fine when the monitor was turned on.
PeaB4YouGo, the monitor being on or off makes no difference on whether the PC boots or not. Mine boots either way. Besides servers do it constantly, it's called 'deadheading'. The Monitor is just a way to see what is going on. Your computer would do the same things if your monitor was on or off. If it was off, you just couldn't see them doing it. I suspect he had some other problem, but the monitor was not one of them, on or off.
I have one of my PC's hooked to a 40 in. screen that must be turned on separately. Some times I forget and the PC's boots normal almost.
If I turn on the screen late all my desktop icons and scattered all over the place. Other than that no problems.
My other PC doesn't care one way or the other. On or off it boots and things are normal when I do turn on the screen.
If there was something wrong with the monitor it would show up all the time not just on boot is my thinking.
I'm curious what monitor is being used.
