Windows 7 - Install AGP Drivers for HD 3850, 3650, 2400 PRO

Hi I need some help with My AGP video card that is not working with Win 7 home premium. I have an AMD Athlon 64, running 32-bit windows.

I tried to copy and paste the .inf file you attached in your first post with no luck. The paths are different and the .inf files have different names, not sure which on to replace.

The card is a brand new gigabyte hd4650 AGP 1 GB

Here are my hardware ids:

Hi chrizito and Welcome to SevenForums

Try useing the CD that came with the video card it has the drivers on it or you might go to the gigabyte site and see if their are newer ones their.

I have done everything that you have suggest in this thread, but it will not work.

I did get it too work earlier, but I dont remember how I did.

It wasn't with any fix or something, just the catalyst drivers...

I got some problem and reinstalled my windows and after that so,,,

I had Asus HA 3650 silent card and it is a ATI Radeon HD 3650 in it

Please help me before I've got mad.

I have read this thread and from what I have found Windows 7 does not like my MB which has a Nvidia nforce 3 Ultra chipset. Torrentg, hats off to you for helping so many people with this, if you were here I would buy you a beer.

My question: Is there anyway to keep my MB with Windows 7 and install an AGP video card that will work with this combo?

My specs should be listed, if not I will put them on here.

Ok all,

Here is my take and experience on this topic. I have an older NForce3 Gigabyte board I'm using as an HTPC. I thought I would upgrade the video card from a Radeon X1650 to an HD4650 AGP. I have been building computers sin the XT days (remember those?). I wasn't aware of the incompatibility issues with the nforce chipset. I have NEVER ran into anything that was so much of a pain in the butt as this card. I am going to have to send it back for a refund.
What is wierd is the 1650 installs and runs fine with Win 7 while the 4650 wont run at all.

comptechltd I know what you mean, this is very strange. I have built several myself and the wierd thing is I have 2 MSI boards, the 7030 and the 7025 both having the Nforce chipset but this one is the ultra and it will not work with any video card. However the other being the 250GB chipset will work with any video card. I am changing out the Ultra chipset MB with an Asus which has the Via chipset, hopefully that will take care of the issues.
