Do you have any more suggestions?
Thanks Who's John? heh Install this. Do it by using the device manager, especially for the CPU to AGP bridge in system devices.
Then after successful, install video driver from this thread.
Also, you can try installing it in Vista compatibility mode by running the setup.exe | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self built OS 7600.20510 x86 CPU P4 550 3.4 GHz HT running at 3.5 GHz Motherboard MSI PM8M3-V (MS-7211 v1.x) Micro-ATX mainboard Memory OCZ 2 GB(2x1GB) DDR400mHz running @ 414 mHz Graphics Card HIS Radeon HD 3850 IceQ 3 Turbo HDMI Dual DL-DVI AGP Sound Card MOTU Traveler firewire studio interface 192 kHz 24 bit Monitor(s) Displays 22" widescreen Acer X223W LCD, 17" Compaq P75 CRT Screen Resolution 1680x1050 and 1280x1024 Keyboard Logitch Classical Keyboard 200 Mouse Logitech Mediaplay cordless PSU 350W generic Case Cybertronpc, it glows blue Cooling stock cpu fan, Ice-Q 3 gpu and system, many case fans Hard Drives SATA I x2 WD, 400 GB and 120 GB, SATA 2 WD Caviar Black 1 TB Internet Speed 1792/448 kbits/sec Other Info SATA II PCI fake RAID adapter, 1 GB Readyboost, original ATI Remote Wonder (even works with WMC perfectly), Logitech Rumblepad 2 game controller x2 |

Making progress.
Via cpu-agp driver installed and works ok.
After installing ati driver windows progresses from "starting windows" screen to blue screen before restarting again. Looked like atikmdag.sys was the file it reported. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number asus OS windows 7 CPU amd 2500+ Motherboard asus a7v8x-mx se Memory 2G Graphics Card ati radeon a3650 - dtv - 512D2 Monitor(s) Displays acer 24" lcd PSU 350w Hard Drives 80gb |

Thanks for info Thanks for the info. This is my HTPC for recording tv. I did get it working finally last night with a Catalyst 9.1 driver. Looks good so far, we will see over the next couple days. If it still doesn't work very well, I'm upgrading my main pc and will have a Gigabyte intel mb to swap out. Just need another Pci express video card.
Thanks for your time.

Do you have an nForce3 motherboard? sorry, my bad, I've only now realized I was supposed to use the "have disk" procedure, I was selecting browse directory or some other menu.
still, I just ged bad artifacts and BSOD just like with the Vista drivers
so I'm still stuck on Catalyst 9.2 as only WDDM 1.0 drivers work so far on my Win 7.
I have a nforce2 MB
I so hope I'm gonna find a solution to use Cat 9.11, I've had no luck with WDDM 1.1 so far. | My System Specs

My Win 7 ( upgraded from Vista) works quite fine with Catalyst 9.2 just that I can't install any newer driver.
I also have XP installed and Cat 9.11 works fine in it, DXVA in Flash 10.1 and all...
thing is the early Vista drivers such as the one bundled on my card's install CD also worked terribly in Vista on my PC unlike Catalyst 9.2 which works fine even in 7.
Is there any reason why it would not be possible to have a working Windows 7 graphics driver on my PC? | My System Specs

Yeah, NVIDIA dropped support of nForce3 and lower before Vista ever came out. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self built OS 7600.20510 x86 CPU P4 550 3.4 GHz HT running at 3.5 GHz Motherboard MSI PM8M3-V (MS-7211 v1.x) Micro-ATX mainboard Memory OCZ 2 GB(2x1GB) DDR400mHz running @ 414 mHz Graphics Card HIS Radeon HD 3850 IceQ 3 Turbo HDMI Dual DL-DVI AGP Sound Card MOTU Traveler firewire studio interface 192 kHz 24 bit Monitor(s) Displays 22" widescreen Acer X223W LCD, 17" Compaq P75 CRT Screen Resolution 1680x1050 and 1280x1024 Keyboard Logitch Classical Keyboard 200 Mouse Logitech Mediaplay cordless PSU 350W generic Case Cybertronpc, it glows blue Cooling stock cpu fan, Ice-Q 3 gpu and system, many case fans Hard Drives SATA I x2 WD, 400 GB and 120 GB, SATA 2 WD Caviar Black 1 TB Internet Speed 1792/448 kbits/sec Other Info SATA II PCI fake RAID adapter, 1 GB Readyboost, original ATI Remote Wonder (even works with WMC perfectly), Logitech Rumblepad 2 game controller x2 Install AGP Drivers for HD 3850, 3650, 2400 PRO problems?
