Graphic Glitches (Artifacts?) on GTX 970

I know this seems to be copy-pasted, but I'd figure it'll be easy to just copy rather than just right everything from start.

Hi, I have EVGA GTX 970 SC for about two weeks and since then I get some graphic glitches. It firstly happen when the game starts to freeze and blackscreens but it fixed it with a clean install of drivers. After that, things go smoothly until I discovered some glitches. It seems like artifacts at first, but I made a topic on EVGA forums and they told me it was game glitches. Regardless, I ran Valley and Heaven Benchmark without any graphic glitches and artifacts. World of Warcraft and Dota didn't seem to have any glitches and artifacts. Only Team Fortress 2 seem to have these glitches. These glitches aren't consisitant and it happens like once and it disapears which makes it hard to reproduce, otherwise the gameplay wasn't affected. In case you didn't know, it ran on stock settings. I underclocked the gpu and I didn't see any glitches until I saw that red flash on the other screenshot where I use paint tool to make a circle out of it. Otherwise, EVGA forums told me that if you didn't see artifacts in heaven nor valley, your card is fine. That doesn't make any sense..of course I ran some memory error test and it shows no errors too. :/ Oh yeah, I almost forgot that my gpu temps are in the 40s-50s. I dunno if the card's faulty or what but I really need your guys your input on this.

Recently I also did a benchmark on 3DMark (not 11, just the demo from Steam) and didn't noticed any artifacts nor glitches.

    Here are my specs:

    Cpu: i7 960 @ 3.20ghz
    Gpu:evga gtx 970 ACX 2.0 sc
    Ram: Corsair Dominator 12GB
    MB: Gigabyte g1. Guerilla x58
Harddrive: Seagate 1TB 7200rpm Hard Drive
Optical Drive: LG Blu-Ray / DVD Burner Combo
    Monitor: Sceptre 27inch 60mhz (1920 x 1080)
    Mouse: Logitech g700s
Keyboard: Corsair Vengeance k70 Black (Red LED) Keyboard with Cherry MX Red Switches)
    PSU: Corsair TX750

And here are some screenshots to proof:

I also made a thread on both Tom's Hardware and Nvidia forums but no response as of yet.

Bump! Surprisingly no replies here. O.o

Anyway, I've been through dozens of stress test including OCCT, MemtestG80, VMT, and EVGA OC Scanner and so far, no errors nor artifacts. I even used the furmark gpu core and memory burner with artifact scanner and didn't see any artifacts.

I honestly don't know why Team Fortress 2 has these small and non reproduced glitches. Was the game was old but was updated more recently, bad engine, drivers or what? It baffles me right out the bat. I hope the new drivers will solve it. Although I don't see anyone with a GTX 970 of any brand have this issue. ><

Is there any possible way about this?

It does look like it's from the game itself, I have that too.

Ah..which game did you experience that sort of glitch? I tried out Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag. Didn't play that much though, the game runs smoothly too except it has some glitches too but no artifacts.

There's like a missing texture on the far right.

Otherwise if its really game issue then I guess my card is fine despite of all the tests I did. I mean, I never seen those glitches when I have my GTX 560. Didn't remember which version of drivers but last time I updated the drivers was from three months ago when I used that card.

Also, I researched alot about gpu artifacts which mostly artifacts that are known are spiked polygons and pixelated squares all in the screen. Now the question is, does artifacts come out slowly before it progresses or the artifacts spiked up faster first?

I experienced it on GTA IV, tiny artifacts shows first then disappears after 10 seconds. I think artifacts does come out slowly before it progresses because sometimes artifacts means that the textures are still loading or may have failed to load. I think the cause of the problem is incompatibility because of the newer card.

Ouch...What type of artifacts are you getting? I heard that these artifacts can cause by the core or the vram but these tests I get were fine whatsoever. Mostly were caused by overheating, even though my card wasn't overheating. My GPU was in the 40s while playing WoW.

Team Fortress 2 was an old game. How on earth did GTX 970 wasn't compatible? Maybe it was the factory oc didn't play very nice with that game even though I played WoW and benchmarks run fine as well.

I think so but it's really strange because you shouldn't get artifacts at all. The OC should play nicely because it was tested to run at that clock speed. Try to downclock a bit.

I can try downclock it since I have msi afterburner. One of the members from evga forums told me to downclock around -105 on both memory and core clocks. I played TF2 with those downclock setting. Haven't really tested out yet, but I'll try it again. Although what are your suggestions about downclocking? How further do I reduce it?

Keep downclocking and check if the artifacts are gone :)

Alright, I downclocked it to -105 on both clocks and I didn't see any artifacts while playing TF2 for an hour. Ironically, someone has the similiar issue only world of warcraft though.

Unstable GPU OC, only in wow.

Its really strange how that game is picky on factory oc's, even if they're stable on all games and benchmarks.

EDIT: Nevermind the glitches are still there but its not that frequent (same for stock) so I guess it has to be the game issue or a driver issue? Since I've put all the stress testing I could get and no problems.
