DVI Cable don't reconigze offboard vga

Here's my problem. I'm trying to use a DVI cable to use my PC, but the cable don't recognize my offboard VGA. And when I try to update the nvidia driver, it shows an error that there is no compatible hardware.
How do I "make" the cable use my offboard vga and not use the onboard vga ?

Restart you computer then go to your BIOS by pressing DEL (or what ever your BIOS says) then search for "Disable Onboard Graphics" and set it to Enabled (or somwhere similar) then you can go on install your drivers.

Fixed! I tried to disable the Onboard Graphics as RoasterMan said but I didn't have that option, so I went on the device manager and activated the video adapter that I had there and it worked. Thanks!

Will this cable work to extend coaxial cable for cable box?
Getting a new TV and placing it in a different spot than where the old TV is and I realized the coaxial cable coming from the wall isn't going to reach the new location for cable box's "Cable IN" connection. Can I use this as an extension? It looks right to me but I just want to be sure.

8 Pin CPU Cable = 2x4 pin?
I notice many power supplies including some of Corsairs more premium ax series such as the ax850 still dont come with an 8 pin cable which some motherboards have. I have heard it is suitable to use 2x4 pin cables, but I want to be sure. Can anyone confirm/deny this for me? Thanks
