I have answered this in a different thread and you'll get a lot of suggestions. I'm an Nvidia guy but the XFX 5770 is only 174.99 at Newegg. It has 1gb DDR5, DX11, 3 monitor support and eyefinity. This is a great card IMO. A little more but well worth the extra 25.00. Plus double lifetime warranty Fabe http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150447 Or for 149.99 GTX 250 without DX11 and all the other frills. Preformace wise not a whole lot of diffference NOW. But when the DX11 games come out you'll be behind, only because of 25.00 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150439

The 4850 is definitely a good card for it's price. You can pick one up for probably under $120 on newegg.

The 5700 series didn't get such high marks in Tomshardware's reviews: Conclusion - Review Tom's Hardware : Radeon HD 5770 And 5750 Review: Gentlemen, Start Your HTPCs
Maybe you'll want to look into that, they say the ATI 4870 delivers better performance at a cheaper price. If you're on a budget, I'd stay stick to your original choice of the 4850, the performance increase between the 4850 and 4870 might not be all that significant.

You can refer to the graphics card hierarchy to see how graphics card are ranked with similar cards:

Here is a 5750 with 1gb DDR5 3 monitor and DX11 for 144.99. One of the reasons I hesitate to recommend a Sapphire or a Radeon card is I'm not familiar with their warranty or support. With a graphic card this is very important to me. Why? I read a lot of reviews and graphic cards lead the way with arriving D.O.A or failing shortly after. For some reason. So warranty and support TO ME is important.
