    HP w1907 LCD monitor

    Hi all,

This may have been covered, I'm new so not sure. I did a quick search but couldn't find anything. Here's the problem - I have had this monitor for a while running on Vista. Absolutely no problems - the native resolution of 1440 x 900 was available as soon as I installed Vista and it ran fine. I recently upgraded to Windows 7 and got everything up and running BUT for some reason the display resolution available is only 1200 x something or 1600 x something(sorry I'm on another computer so I can't remember exactly what the figures are) and 1440 x 900 isn't available. I tried downloading drivers for Windows 7 but that didn't work. I've seen some things online and tried some but they don't work. I thought if Windows 7 was the next OS up from Vista and my monitor worked with Vista then it should work fine with Windows 7. Any ideas to try? I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. Cheers :)

Yes I tried the software, still no go. It's weird - the native resolution is 1440 x 900 but Windows 7 won't allow me to choose that particular resolution. I have installed the Windows 7 drivers but still the same problem. I've looked through the internet but I haven't found a solution yet. Very strange considering Vista worked fine.

Another weird thing I noticed today - I had a look in the .inf file from the Windows 7 file I downloaded from HP and the native resolution of 1440 x 900 is listed several times in the file but it doesn't show up when I try to change the resolution. Worked fine in Vista, same computer, same graphics card.......so annoying
