"You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU"...

I just bought a new C.P.U yesterday for gaming. This is an essembled PC that i got. It's specs are briefly as follows ,

I7 Processor
16 GB RAM
Nvidia GTX 960 2GB Graphics Card

When the shop guy showed me the system and asked me to checked the system by using Windows 8.1 after the essembling was done, everything looked fine...

When i brought home the system.Attached it to my 32 INCH Led T.V through HDMI.After the Windows 8.1 Start up,i right clicked on the desktop to check out " Nvidia Control Panel " & i recieved this message,

"You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU"

However,under the " Display Adapters " dorp down list in " Device Manager " , i can see my two graphics cards, i.e 1:Intel (R) HD Graphics 4600 & 2:NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960

What do i do ?

I take it you have a Desktop Computer ? ... Normally when using a Graphics Card when one is plugged in to the Motherboard it would disable the On-board Graphics which in your case is the Intel HD ...You should be able to Disable it through the BIOS ..

An Alternative way around this is to connect your GPU by VGA or DVI to your Monitor

OMG

Thank you SOOOOOO MUCH.Reading your comment,i thought about giving a second look behind my C.P.U's system.I noticed, there was a second hdmi slot located just at the base of the system (Which might be the Graphics card slot or similar,i am not much knowledgable about this).

Soon after plugging in my hdmi's wire in that slot,i finally was able to use my Nvidia Control Panel

I am so glad.Thank you ...

"NVIDIA Display settings are not available."
"You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU." That happens when I try to access the control panel. What does this mean? Was I correct in assuming that my laptop wasnt using the NVIDIA video card? Is there any way to fix it to be able to access my NVIDIA control panel?
