Cards in Sli, loose a bit of gaming memory in WEI.

Hello all, has anyone ever experienced this with 2 nvidia cards in SLI.

Before I enable SLI I have 4096 total available graphics memory showing in WEI.

After I enable SLI it goes to 3968.

It`s no big deal at all, but I just wondered if this occurred to anyone, if you even noticed it.

And my question is why might it do it.

It did it on my MSI board and now the Sabertooth.

I`m assuming it`s just a Windows thing and can`t be adjusted.

    I run 2 EVGA 770 2 GB cards.

    Thanks for any input :)

Bios updated, no affect on the memory difference.

1 card Total Available Graphics memory = 4096 MB

2 cards in SLI Total Available Graphics memory = 3968 MB

Also, nothing changes with Shared System memory, that stays constant at 2048 MB.

I need a few members running nVidia SLI to chime in on this please, Thank You :)

I also notice 2 different IN USE memory amounts with and without SLI enabled.

Top photo is with SLI, bottom photo is without.

Could that be the memory mapping of the SLI hardware bridge?

You mean this, how would that affect system memory, thought they just linked the cards ?

You can see here exactly what`s happening, it`s the shared system memory that has to be causing the change in the Total Available, as the 2048 MB on the card can not be changed, but yet the 2nd photo still shows 2048 of shared system memory. So why the change in Total Available in the 2nd photo ? That`s the mystery.

I was just thinking that perhaps the hardware bridge was mapped into memory somehow. That's all.

I`ll right emails to EVGA and Asus, but I`m sure it`s just a windows thing :)
