OMG what have I done. "No signal detected!"

I have no idea anymore.

STORY: My new PC monitor just came in as my computer is reinstalling windows.

So I disconnected my old monitor as my computer kept running the installation and I had connected up my brand new monitor.

"No signal detected!"

Okay, so my computer is currently too busy running the windows installation to be installing a new driver to make the new display work so I thought okay, I'll just reconnect my old monitor back up so I can see what I'm doing again.
Reconnected my old monitor up to get the same exact message!
And yes, I have the right cable mode selected. Still nothing. What happened? How do I fix this?

The first thing you should do is keep your problems in a single thread. You've got at least one other thread going.

Splitting problems related to the same machine in separate threads only confuses readers. People reading one thread have no idea what is going on in the other.

Three minutes ago, I thought you had one set of problems. Now you say you are reinstalling Windows.

I can only guess that these threads are about the same PC?

Apologies, the two just didn't seem to relate at all was the reason why I opened this new thread; a problem about a monitor not showing and a computer that was unable to boot from OS seemed like two different issues so I seperated them.

The monitor should not have to "told" which input jack is being used, correct? Wifey and I use a TV flatscreen for our desktop, and from time to time, it has to be "told" which input to pay attention to.
Concerning Windows not booting, did you already try booting the DVD [OEM or MS Windows] and engaging the Startup Repair choice?

Are you sure the monitor is set to use the correct input that the PC is using, such as VGA, HDMI, etc. ?

Can you try a different cable and connection type such as VGA, HDMI, etc. ?

David, since his old monitor now generates the same error message, could something temporarily "be afoot" with the computer?

Yes I've already selected the input being used ..with HDMI, display port and VGI, nothing.
I have no idea how this even became a problem, this shouldn't even be a problem, but voila ..this thread.

Howszitgoin' with the installation? I'm hoping that a reboot can lead to a power down and a cold start -- perhaps that will restore video to either the new monitor or the old monitor.

Do you get any output on the screen so you can enter BIOS ?
Did you do a BIOS reset with the new motherboard ?

I don't know, seeing as I disconnected the monitor whilst it was in the middle of installing windows.
