Hi I have a Sony Vaio VGN-SZ5VWN/X with a GO7200 After I had installed Win7 I had the same problem only standard vga and therefore a reduced desktop. I have followed your tutorial and lo it now says i have a NVIDIA Geforce 210 with chipset Go 7400. and my desktop has now resized to fill the screen. Thank you for the tutorial.
I then went to run the exe to gat the contreol and I went to C:\Nvidea and clicked on setup.exe and I got the reonse that there were no graphics cards that matched in my computer.ny help would be appreciated. Is there something a I have obviously missed? Thanks

Hi. Very glad the driver installed well for you since Sony or NVIDIA do not offer any Windows 7 graphics solution for Vaio.

Possibly, you didn't miss anything about the NVIDIA Control Panel being installed. I do not own a laptop so I can not test. There most likely is way to get it installed if you try different things.

I am not completely sure the tutorial is correct in this aspect. Has anyone been able to install the Control Panel? If so, how?

Hey torrentg... I had run into the same problem as falconsrest, except that im using a sony vaio VGC-LT23E all-in-one PC with the GeForce 8400M GT...

I realized that I had the same "hardware ids" as the first guy you helped out in another forum... so i just downloaded and used the 'NV_DISP.inf' you made for that set, and it worked wonders...

Afterwards though, when I would run the setup.exe in C:\NVIDIA\... I would get the same error sign as falconsrest... Than i decided to start running all the '.exe' files in the same folder individually (except for the uninstall.exe of corse) and It worked somewhat...

I got the nvidia console to install in my control panel (and works fine), but there is a problem with nvidia PhysX... when I open it from the control panel... Under the 'info' tab, it says no physx processor installed... and under another tab it says no accelerator detected, and all the selections are grayed out...

Regardless, the aero effects work great now (Windows 7 experience index = "5.1"... v.s. the "1" that it was before I ran into ur forum)... it is my dad's PC, so its not like hes going to be playing video games or anything on it... but the one thing that might bother him later is that the max resolution is only 1680x1050... I dont remember exactly how much it was when it had vista installed on it, but it seemed to be better than what it is now...
under 'device manager>>Monitor' --> it says 'Generic PnP Monitor'... I looked up drivers for my, or any Sony monitors and found nothing... Than I came across a program called 'PowerStrip' which lets you CREATE a monitor driver with the max resolution and everything, i guess??

I havnt used it yet, I wanted to hear what you, and everyone else, had to say first...

And before I go, I have to add... torrentg... for helping all of us out with this mobile graphic card issue... im sure everyone can agree with me when I say that YOU ARE THE MAN!!

    Cheers torrentg...

    ...SAM... i am

Welll i am doing something wrong.

I Used latest version of mobillitymodder (did not work)
    Then I Disabled X64 driver signing (http://www.killertechtips.com/2009/0...ing-windows-7/)
After that i editted the inf file but when i started de nvidia installer it will install something and then says that there where no drivers installed.
When i do it manually it says that the driver is not for my graphics card.

    So still no working drivers
I have an acer 7520 with the Geforce8400m G (nog Gs or GT as stated by acer in some ads )

i get this info form hardware manager
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0428&SUBSYS_01261025&REV_A1
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0428&SUBSYS_01261025
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0428&CC_030000
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0428&CC_0300

what am i doing wrong ?

Hi. Rar or zip the .inf you edited and attach to a post using the paperclip. I'll have a look at it.

Okay so what is the difference between doing this yourself or downloading drivers off of laptopvideo2go?

None, except that this always is guaranteed to use latest driver because you download it yourself from NVIDIA - and also it's here because 9 out of 10 users claim they can't get the NVIDIA modder to work - when it actually works well and user error in the process causes issues.
