    Finally it works,

Matthewatts I got some problem with 8.652.1
I flash bios 2.04 and try latest catalyst drivers from acer side.
I also used mobility modder and try to fix problem with no succes.
Finally I try drivers with acer win7 upgrade CD and no error code 10 and ATI PowerXpress really works how it should works.
It“s strange that older drivers works but latest drivers from acer side NOT!
Hopefully this was helpfull for somebody....

Karrir good sir, you are a genius.

Anyone having a problem can fix PowerXpress and restore functionality as follows:

Uninstall all ATI products using Control Panel > Programs and Features (NO need to uninstall drivers through device manager)

Flash the bios to version 2.04 (Downloadable from Acer Home > service & support > driver download > notebook > aspire > 7535g > select windows 7 from dropdown menu and see v2.04 under BIOS tab)

Insert the Acer (green?) Upgrade DVD that came with the Windows 7 DVD and run the setup from Common Drivers > Video_AMD_PUMA_Win7_X86X64_8.634

And low and behold upon reboot PowerXpress shows High performance in the box and will switch automatically again!

Karrir - Nice one! Hope you don't mind me spelling it out for everyone and stealing your thunder

Just had to pop onto the forum here to say thanks :)

I have been following this thread for months hoping a solution would be found. I had applied the fix that involved the computer believing it had 2 monitors.

Since that I have updated the BIOS and all is now back to how it should be :)

What happened for me was I updated the BIOS, then checked Add/Remove Programs and in there there was the Catalyst Manager, which I left alone, I put the Acer upgrade disk in and installed the graphics card.

That's it all is now well, so a big thank you to this forum!

hi all,,, i had tried all previous fixes,,, even with the bios update installed on one of my acer 7535g lappys with no affect,,, did not work every time,,, the hd4750 drivers kept giving me a code10,,, then i followed Mathews fix in post 82 and after using REVO uninstaller to remove ATI software,, then used advanced search (press windows key+F) and typed in top right ATI and removed all then CCC and removed all then i installed the Video_AMD_PUMA_Win7_X86X64_8.634,,, rebooted,,, on reboot looked in device manager and the hd 4750 was installed and the switchable graphics worked fine,,,,
i then downloaded the 2.04 bios update for my second acer 7535g,, followed the exact process as before with the install and this also worked fine,,, switchable graphics on both my machines at last,,, big thanks for all your help all who have posted and i hope Mathews fix works on yours and
    good luck.

    I'm back to square one.

I was forced to reinstall Windows, and now I can't get it working, not with the 9.10 drivers (which were the ones I was using, and everything was fine) nor with the 10.2. No matter how I try to uninstall and then reinstall modded drivers, I'm stuck with the 3200...

And I also can't get the BIOS to flash, it always fails with error code 0x4D0 and no other explanation.

    Why, oh why???

Could the fact that I'm running a retail version of Windows, and not the Acer upgrade, be an issue?

    All right, it's finally working!

Don't bother with the Device Manager control panel, it's useless.

Uninstall and wipe everything you've tried to install before, restart if required.

Device Manager at this point will give you a working 3200 and a code 10 4570. Fine.

Run the Mobility Modder on a full CCC ATI suite, then install it running setup.exe (DON'T update or install the driver through the Device Manager, THAT is what is useless!).

Restart when asked to, open up the CCC, select PowerXpress from the drop-down menu, and voilą! If your 7535 is plugged in, the 4570 should be selected by default.

That's it! No BIOS updates, no strange drivers from the past! Well, actually I used the 9.12 Catalyst Suite, I've not tried with the 10.2 and I don't think I will...

Of course, next time I'll be forced to reinstall Windows I might give it a try with the new drivers (and I hope that's a looong way into the future!), but I'll keep CCC 9.12 in a safe place in the meantime...

    Hope this helps!

It's a good feeling to know that a problem shared, finally gets sorted - god knows how many months on!!! Good work all - glad this thread has been helpful.

Unfortunately for me, I managed to lose the original ACER installation cd, so will have to stick to the manual desktop switch for now.

If any of you are feeling charitable and wouldn't mind lending / copying me your installation disc please private message me - will return I promise!!!

Otherwise lets enjoy some meaty graphics useage!

Have had my 7535 since jan30 and upgraded to win7 2 weeks ago. Much frustration too! Since then I`ve totally reinstalled vista, split my hd into 2 drives, installed win7 into the new partition to make it dualboot and am still trying to get the hd4570 working in my win7 drive!
Tried several attempts toget it going before I split the drive and failed miserably.
So splitting drive at least gives me a machine to use whilst I try to get it going again. This is my first computer since owning an Amiga2000 in the 80`s. I miss my Amidos operating system small and reliable it was! So try, try and try again.
