Windows 7 drivers for radeon 9250

i have just installed windows 7 on an older system with a radeon 9250 128mb agp video card.

i tried installing the latest catalyst driver package just to see if they would work but they didn't detect the card, and i couldn't manually update the drivers via device manager since the card would not see any compatible drivers.

is there any supported drivers avaialble for this card for windows 7?

thanks.

Download the Vista driver for it from ATI's site (or from Zidane's link above.) Extract it to C:\ATI

Then install using the device manager. Right click standard vga. Update driver software. Browse. Let me pick. Have disk. Browse. Now go inside C:\ATI and find the .inf (inside driver display folder or something.)

Double click on it and hit ok.

thanks for the responses.

i used the zip file Zidane24 provided but device manager didn't recognize the drivers when i tried updating them.

i can't find a vista driver for this card on the amd website- even when i try searching for vista specific drivers for the card the search turns up nothing.

any other suggestions?

Oh yeah...Seems they didn't make a Vista driver even for that card. You're probably out of luck then, unless you can install the XP driver and it works. I doubt it but worth a try.

You'll have to install through the device manager if it will work at all, by pointing to the specific .inf.

You will not have Aero even if it does work.

Or another approach is to try to place an install string for your card into the download from ATI/AMD's site for the 9500 Vista.

Right click on your standard vga in device manager. Properties. Details tab. Change dropdown to hardware ids. Copy and paste the results here, if you want me to make you an .inf for that ATI download. (x86 or x64?)

I have this same problem. I just aquired a new monitor. I have two on my NVida 8600 Card. One VGA, 1 SLI. I have now added a old card and a new monitor. I can't get this new card to work. I just plan on keeping Outlook or something on while using this monitor so it will not be of much graphical intensity. I have tried to do so many different divers and such. Here is a screenshot of my device manager. Let me know if this is possible.

It's not possible because the Radeon 9250 can only use XP driver, if at all.

Pre WDDM 1.1 drivers can not work on the system with other video drivers. So even if XP will work for the card, it won't with the NVIDIA present.

The 9250 will never have Aero no matter what.

(And you mean one VGA, one DVI on the NVIDIA card. )
