Wanting to upgrade GPU, looking for suggestions

Every year I try to upgrade a MB component, this year I am thinking about a new GPU, I do not do a lot of gaming and would like a card that is relatively quite.

Current specs:

Motherboard - Asus P6T
Power Supply - PC Power and Cooling @ 610 watts
GPU - EVGA GTX 260
OS - Win. 7 Home Prem. 64 bit
PCI - 2.0 x 16
Monitor - ViewSonic 2365 @ 1920 x 1080, DVI

I am aware that with Win. 7 the best Direct X I can get will be #11 and that the new GPU will be PCI 3 and have to run in the "backward" compatible mode to accommodate the PCI 2.0 slot.

The GTX 260 is 10.5 inches long and the cooling fans are getting very loud.

My price range would be $200.00 - $300.00

I would like to stay with a NVIDIA GPU.

I have been looking and there is much to choose from so I am asking for some suggestion from this forum -

Thanks

Joe

EVGA Stick with what works

EVGA - Products - Graphics

Even though you`re not into gaming this is also a beautiful card, Doug has one.

MSI USA

I also recommend upping your memory to 8 GB

Thinking about something in the GTX 960 range - lots to choose from and they ALL offer more than I will most likely ever need -

What do you all think of this one - Asus GTX 960 STRIX

I'd stick with evga
If you want a 4gb card evga has plenty of them too
Plus it has better base & boost clock than the asus

Piece of crap 128 bit memory interface.

We give you great suggestions and you come up with an Asus piece of junk

Asus and video cards do not even belong in the same sentence.

Works great and runs super cool. Well worth the price in my opinion and I'm not a gamer.
