You need to install the graphics driver, you are using the basic driver from Windows,

Is this a fresh install? You will probably need more than just that driver too if it is.

Pick the "Intel High Definition (HD) Graphics Driver"

You only choose the driver for the graphics adapter you have in your laptop, you don`t go installing all of them.

This specsheet says you have Intel HD graphics, but we have no clue what specs your laptop actually has, only you do.

After that, check device manager to see what has a next to it or unknown.

I wouldn't worry about it then, if you find something doesn't work it may need a driver but if you don't see anything, no need to mess with it.

You're display is fixed now so unless you have other questions you can mark this solved.

New laptop, resolution limited to 1366x768. Any way to increase this?
So the laptop in question is a 15,9" ASUS K53SV (I think, not 100% on the exact numbers/lettering) with an i7 2630, with integrated graphics chip AND a Geforce 540m. I suspect that the reason why I cannot increase my desktop resolution further is because that integrated chip insists on running...
