Two VGA graphics adapters installed?

Looking through my Device manager there are two 'Standard VGA Graphics Adapters' installed.

Is this normal? This laptop has the performance rating of 1 so I was wondering if one is in the way of the other.

Yeah, that is normal on some systems. I will say you need graphics drivers though if they are being reported as VGA.

Here's a link to an Intel article on that,

There are quite a few models, a lot of laptops today have 2 graphics chips, maybe an Intel and an AMD or nVidia card, the nvidia or amd will take over for more graphic intensive things.

It`s sounds like you don`t have any drivers installed or something, I`d look into that.

This is the specs of just 1 version I pulled up and it has an nVidia chip.

I really don`t think device manager should be reporting a standard graphics adapter, and no way should it be scoring a 1

And max out your memory to 8 GB if possible.

There are so many versions of that laptop

That's usually the basic driver installed when you see that,

Standard VGA Graphics Adapter is what you will ALWAYS see and what will always be used by the computer if it doesn't have any graphics drivers installed. Safe Mode always uses this.

Exactly what I said, 2nd sentence

And totally out of the ordinary to see that on a factory prepared PC.

A fresh install sure, but he does not mention that.

Well there you go, it would have been nice if he had mentioned that.

Surprised he`s even posted the question knowing that.

Not sure why the reset from 10 didn`t set everything straight ?????

Chewtah, once you know what adapters you have, just download the drivers from Toshiba, your specs/manual/paperwork etc what tell you what you have.

Under display adapters, I now have a Nvidia Geforce GT 330m and a standard VGA graphic adapter installed, wireless has return and works but the 'dash' light does not illuminate?

I'm sorry if my descriptions of problems are not compete, Ill keep trying. ATM I cant save my system specs well enough to paste them here.

Maxing my memory to 8 gig?, is that buying and installing another ram chip?

Also, My system specs shows 64 bit, but elsewhere it shows it is a 32 bit system, will this cause conflicts? Am I better to go 32 bit all through it. (i'll elaborate where it shows what later, bear with me)

And, quite often an instruction will say 'click this box', mine often has that box!

To know what bit system you`re running click start>right click computer>click properties

It will then show you this
