monitor display off centre with new pc

Hi, I have a iiyama prolite E2208HDS monitor, which worked OK until recently.
Now the desktop display is where it should be but any program I open or any webpage is off centre, about 2" to the right, so that part of the desktop on the left is showing.
I've tried using the monitor controls but the geometry option is not 'live'.
The auto option does nothing, either.
I built my own pc a month or two ago and have been using this monitor with it without any problem until now.
The monitor manual is very hard to understand.
It says something about adjusting a timing signal when connected to a new pc, but I'm unable to follow the instructions.
I'd be grateful for any advice.

Hi. I've solved it now. I right clicked on the desktop to get into the Nvidia navigation page and then into the size and position option. Then I changed the setting from full screen to aspect ratio.
