monitor display off centre with new pc

Hi, I have a iiyama prolite E2208HDS monitor, which worked OK until recently.
Now the desktop display is where it should be but any program I open or any webpage is off centre, about 2" to the right, so that part of the desktop on the left is showing.
I've tried using the monitor controls but the geometry option is not 'live'.
The auto option does nothing, either.
I built my own pc a month or two ago and have been using this monitor with it without any problem until now.
The monitor manual is very hard to understand.
It says something about adjusting a timing signal when connected to a new pc, but I'm unable to follow the instructions.
I'd be grateful for any advice.

Hi. I've solved it now. I right clicked on the desktop to get into the Nvidia navigation page and then into the size and position option. Then I changed the setting from full screen to aspect ratio.

How do I get display to fit my monitor.
I just installed a new graphics card (gtx 770) today and when I finished installing the drivers I was met with a screen that looks too big for my monitor (taskbar, start button all kind of cut off). I tried changing dpi setting, under and over scan in Nvidia control panel. Resizing works but only if...

Setting up a multi-monitor display w/ a 20" HP monitor and a 32" LG TV
Some backstory: just one month ago, I started to think of what will be the other use of our TV and it's HDMI cable. When I cleaned out my PC, I noticed that my card has an HDMI port so something came into my mind; and after 2 weeks, I decided to use my TV for a larger monitor and it works fine. In...

I've got two nice little 1680 x 1050 20.1" Dell S-IPS monitors, which are de-facto 16:10 units, mounted on an Ergotron stand, with the intention of using one for television and the other for computing purp's. My Graphics card is a capable Palit HD4850 Sonic with dual DVI outputs. It's also got...

display/monitor 1024768 display size
the display/monitor uses the generic driver for display and it is 1024768 or 800x600 but it looks very odd it should be bigger because my screen is bigger. I have a acer monitor but is there something I can download to fix the display size?
