Your video card will work with Windows 7, but does not have enough memory for the Aero interface, so you will only be able to use the basic themes... get the drivers -=> here | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number ASUSTeK Computer INC. Hey. The 5600 series should just barely be able to run Aero, but as Tews says, you might not have enough dedicated video memory. Do you know how much it has?
You may install the latest video driver from NVIDIA anyhow, using this method. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self built OS 7600.20510 x86 CPU P4 550 3.4 GHz HT running at 3.5 GHz Motherboard MSI PM8M3-V (MS-7211 v1.x) Micro-ATX mainboard Memory OCZ 2 GB(2x1GB) DDR400mHz running @ 414 mHz Graphics Card HIS Radeon HD 3850 IceQ 3 Turbo HDMI Dual DL-DVI AGP Sound Card MOTU Traveler firewire studio interface 192 kHz 24 bit Monitor(s) Displays 22" widescreen Acer X223W LCD, 17" Compaq P75 CRT Screen Resolution 1680x1050 and 1280x1024 Keyboard Logitch Classical Keyboard 200 Mouse Logitech Mediaplay cordless PSU 350W generic Case Cybertronpc, it glows blue Cooling stock cpu fan, Ice-Q 3 gpu and system, many case fans Hard Drives SATA I x2 WD, 400 GB and 120 GB, SATA 2 WD Caviar Black 1 TB Internet Speed 1792/448 kbits/sec Other Info SATA II PCI fake RAID adapter, 1 GB Readyboost, original ATI Remote Wonder (even works with WMC perfectly), Logitech Rumblepad 2 game controller x2 |

Hi Tews, Hi Torrentg,
and thank you very much for your answers.
Tews, whit your metod, I have to install Windows 7 and then to run Drive Detective and it will install automaticaly the driver, isn't it (but the software seems not to find drivers for Windows 7 for the Graphic Card)?
And with the metod of Torrentg I have to download the drivers for the FX 5600 and then to make the change for the notebook: where can I find the drivers for Windows 7 for the FX 5600?
So, which do you think is the better way to get drivers for my FX Go5600 Graphic Card?
Thank you very much again! | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Acer Aspire 1700 OS Windows XP CPU Intel Memory 2 Gb Graphics Card Nvidia Geforce FX Go5600 Sound Card Realtek ac'97 Monitor(s) Displays 17'' |

There are no drivers for windows 7... I would use torrentg's method ... either way though, if you are going to use the aero interface, you will have to upgrade your video card... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number ASUSTeK Computer INC. Thank you very much again! In your case, download the Vista driver instead. Then follow the rest of the steps. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self built OS 7600.20510 x86 CPU P4 550 3.4 GHz HT running at 3.5 GHz Motherboard MSI PM8M3-V (MS-7211 v1.x) Micro-ATX mainboard Memory OCZ 2 GB(2x1GB) DDR400mHz running @ 414 mHz Graphics Card HIS Radeon HD 3850 IceQ 3 Turbo HDMI Dual DL-DVI AGP Sound Card MOTU Traveler firewire studio interface 192 kHz 24 bit Monitor(s) Displays 22" widescreen Acer X223W LCD, 17" Compaq P75 CRT Screen Resolution 1680x1050 and 1280x1024 Keyboard Logitch Classical Keyboard 200 Mouse Logitech Mediaplay cordless PSU 350W generic Case Cybertronpc, it glows blue Cooling stock cpu fan, Ice-Q 3 gpu and system, many case fans Hard Drives SATA I x2 WD, 400 GB and 120 GB, SATA 2 WD Caviar Black 1 TB Internet Speed 1792/448 kbits/sec Other Info SATA II PCI fake RAID adapter, 1 GB Readyboost, original ATI Remote Wonder (even works with WMC perfectly), Logitech Rumblepad 2 game controller x2 |

I have the same card. It is working fine on Windows Vista using this driver: ForceWare Release 95
I am going to try the suggested editing to make it work on Windows 7, unless someone has an updated method for getting this to work? | My System Specs | | Nvidia GeForce FX Go5600 (Acer Notebook) problems? All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:06 AM. | |
