It's just how it is. The card is very old and will never support Aero running no matter what.

You could try to force install the XP driver but performance will be very low, if it even installs at all.

I mean what I say and I say what I mean.

In XP, yes it will work fine. Never on Vista or 7.

You could get a really cheap AGP card like the NVIDIA 6200A-LE and have full Aero support.

I had this video card working with drivers ON windows 7 x86 about 1 hour ago till I formatted my computer. How are you telling me it will never work when I had it working 1 hour ago?

What do you want me to do? Convert your card into a better one?

Listen, I feel badly that your hardware is out of date but that card can never ever support Aero or even run well at all on 7.

If you try the XP driver, then it may work with some basic functionality but just barely if even that.

If you don't believe me, visit ATI's site.

    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...rer300-xp.aspx

Extract it to C:\ATI by running it. After it does that to C:\ATI, close it.

Then go to the device manager and right click on the video card. Click update driver software. Browse my computer. Let me pick. Have disk. Browse.

Then go into C:\ATI someplace and double click on the .inf file. Click ok then click next and it should install.

Then reboot and see how it goes. The run setup.exe somewhere in C:\ATI to install the CCC if you want it.

---I don't even know if this will work for you. It's only my best guess.

But ya, in the future and it's possible for you, try to get a new card. I can suggest ones that would be awesome x10 compared to what you have now for around $40 US.
