Recent resolution issues Hey guys,
I have had Windows 7 running flawlessly recently (save the unsolved issue with my BIOS and 4GB RAM) up until now. I was attempting to flash my BIOS using Fox LiveUpdate just today, and when that made my system unresponsive, I restarted my computer using the restart button on my case. However, when Windows loaded again, the resolution was default 1024x768. I have spent hours on Google searching for any way to solve the solution properly. I have downloaded the latest nVidia drivers, and did manage to force Windows to accept my resolution as 1680x1050 by unchecking "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display". I used to have it running fine and I'm not sure what happened. Also, straight after this began to occur, I tried a system restore but that didn't work.
Any help is greatly appreciated guys, cause this is driving me crazy when my games don't recognise my native resolution of 1680x1050.
Thanks in advance. | My System Specs |

If you flashed the bios from Windows like it sounds here, do it again.
Only this time, close all programs before that aren't needed for Windows to run. All. Like firewall. Antivirus. Use the task manager if you need to. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self built OS 7600.20510 x86 CPU P4 550 3.4 GHz HT running at 3.5 GHz Motherboard MSI PM8M3-V (MS-7211 v1.x) Micro-ATX mainboard Memory OCZ 2 GB(2x1GB) DDR400mHz running @ 414 mHz Graphics Card HIS Radeon HD 3850 IceQ 3 Turbo HDMI Dual DL-DVI AGP Sound Card MOTU Traveler firewire studio interface 192 kHz 24 bit Monitor(s) Displays 22" widescreen Acer X223W LCD, 17" Compaq P75 CRT Screen Resolution 1680x1050 and 1280x1024 Keyboard Logitch Classical Keyboard 200 Mouse Logitech Mediaplay cordless PSU 350W generic Case Cybertronpc, it glows blue Cooling stock cpu fan, Ice-Q 3 gpu and system, many case fans Hard Drives SATA I x2 WD, 400 GB and 120 GB, SATA 2 WD Caviar Black 1 TB Internet Speed 1792/448 kbits/sec Other Info SATA II PCI fake RAID adapter, 1 GB Readyboost, original ATI Remote Wonder (even works with WMC perfectly), Logitech Rumblepad 2 game controller x2 |

Hey,
I just solved the BIOS issue today by clean installing XP and then using Fox LiveUpdate to flash the BIOS.
Now I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit working with my 4GB RAM! Hoorah!
But.
My resolution issues still remain... I currently have the 191.07_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_english_whql driver installed for my GPU which I presume is the latest. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit CPU Intel E7400 @ 2.80GHz Motherboard Foxconn P31A-S Memory 4GB DDR2 Graphics Card Gigabyte GTS 250 1GB GDDR3 256 bit Sound Card RealtekHD Audio Monitor(s) Displays ASUS VW223 Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Logitech Ultra-Flat USB PSU 500W Case Raidmax Luna2 ATX Hard Drives Seagate 500GB HDD SATAII HDD 32MB Cache Internet Speed 2MBs |

When I click the link it goes to a 404. Also, when I search for my 9500GT Windows 7 64bit driver, it gives me a 404. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit CPU Intel E7400 @ 2.80GHz Motherboard Foxconn P31A-S Memory 4GB DDR2 Graphics Card Gigabyte GTS 250 1GB GDDR3 256 bit Sound Card RealtekHD Audio Monitor(s) Displays ASUS VW223 Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Logitech Ultra-Flat USB PSU 500W Case Raidmax Luna2 ATX Hard Drives Seagate 500GB HDD SATAII HDD 32MB Cache Internet Speed 2MBs |

Works fine here. Try finding a USA based public proxy by Googling and setting your browser to use it temporarily. Certain regions of the world are having problems it seems. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self built OS 7600.20510 x86 CPU P4 550 3.4 GHz HT running at 3.5 GHz Motherboard MSI PM8M3-V (MS-7211 v1.x) Micro-ATX mainboard Memory OCZ 2 GB(2x1GB) DDR400mHz running @ 414 mHz Graphics Card HIS Radeon HD 3850 IceQ 3 Turbo HDMI Dual DL-DVI AGP Sound Card MOTU Traveler firewire studio interface 192 kHz 24 bit Monitor(s) Displays 22" widescreen Acer X223W LCD, 17" Compaq P75 CRT Screen Resolution 1680x1050 and 1280x1024 Keyboard Logitch Classical Keyboard 200 Mouse Logitech Mediaplay cordless PSU 350W generic Case Cybertronpc, it glows blue Cooling stock cpu fan, Ice-Q 3 gpu and system, many case fans Hard Drives SATA I x2 WD, 400 GB and 120 GB, SATA 2 WD Caviar Black 1 TB Internet Speed 1792/448 kbits/sec Other Info SATA II PCI fake RAID adapter, 1 GB Readyboost, original ATI Remote Wonder (even works with WMC perfectly), Logitech Rumblepad 2 game controller x2 |

Hey,
I decided that I'm in need of an upgrade, so I'm getting the Gigabyte GTS 250 1GB GDDR3 card to replace my Galaxy 9500GT. Hopefully the new card will not give me any troubles :P | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit CPU Intel E7400 @ 2.80GHz Motherboard Foxconn P31A-S Memory 4GB DDR2 Graphics Card Gigabyte GTS 250 1GB GDDR3 256 bit Sound Card RealtekHD Audio Monitor(s) Displays ASUS VW223 Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Logitech Ultra-Flat USB PSU 500W Case Raidmax Luna2 ATX Hard Drives Seagate 500GB HDD SATAII HDD 32MB Cache Internet Speed 2MBs Recent resolution issues problems?
