Computer refuses to let me change refresh rate

I use a Gateway HD monitor, it's currently set to 59 hz, I need to get it up otherwise the monitor will just shut down while I'm playing games. I've tried everything, I tried to change it in the nvidia control panel but it just default back to 59 hz. I've tried the advanced settings in screen resolutions and the result is the same.

Assuming that there is no one here that is proficient with a Gateway Monitor, you may not get an answer. Probably the best approach that you can use is:

1 Go to the company website, support and you may find the answer
2 Go to company website try to find the monitor users manual
3 If you have the monitor's users manual, I am sure the answer can be found there.

    Good
    Luck

This tutorial below can show you how to set a custom refressh rate with a NVIDIA card that should allow you to do this.
