    Resolution stuck at 640X480.

Hi. My screen resolution is stuck at 640X480 after installing windows 7 on my desktop PC. I have a Intel 845 Chipset M\B (D845GVSR). I went to intel's website but there is no support nor drivers for this motberboard. Windows did load a driver but when I try to change the resolution it is greyd-out. I have a LG Flatron L1720B screen and onboard GFX.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

    JP

Intel® 845 Chipset Family - Chipset information and downloads

So no official vista/seven support? You can still install drivers for xp in compatibility mode (i hope) but no aero and similar stuff will be available.

    Anyway just look through google

Welcome to seven fourms jpbar. Which version of windows seven did you install a 32 or 64 bit? Minimum system requirements. Windows 7 system requirements - Microsoft Windows Finding a driver for your onboard graphics is going to be difficult as their is no driver support for it. As mentioned above you can try XP compatibility mode. I hope you have success with this but?? http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sear...ics+Controller

I solved the problem with the help of Sirdan's post. This is what I did. I went to the site that Sirdan suggested for my Intel M\B drivers. I downloaded the onboard video driver and saved it to my desktop. Unzipped the folder and went to device manager. I uninstalled the driver that windows 7 had gave it and restarted the PC. After the PC was in windows again I went back to device manager and double clicked on the video driver (which had a indicator next to it) Went to driver tab, update driver. I browsed for the driver that i unzipped to my desktop and went to the win2000 folder. It started to install the driver and after a while the screen went black and came on again. After the installation I could set the resolution to anything that I wanted to.

Thanks again for all the help guys! Really appreciated it
