Radeon 9250 dual monitors Hi, i installed this card in my new emachine. one monitor in the vga port and the other in the dvi port using a div-vga converter. i get two identical screens, instead of one large extended screen. how do i fix this? thanks in advance.
the radeon card is for xp, but windows 7 recognized it.

You'll require additional software for enhanced functionality I'm afraid. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom built machine OS W7 x64 CPU Intel Q9300 2.5Ghz Quad LGA775 (Would like Q9650) Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3R (F6 Bios) Memory 4Gb OCZ Gold 1,333Mhz Graphics Card Palit HD4850 O/C Sonic 512Mb DDR3, Dual DViD's Sound Card Azalia to twin Samson 50w Studio Monitors Monitor(s) Displays Twin Dell (E-IPS) U2311H 23.6" Screens Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz Keyboard Cherry PS/2 custom model Mouse Logitech M500 Laser Mouse PSU OCZ 600w Case Lian-Li PC8 acoustifoamed' aluminium tower Cooling Scythe 140mm Zipang Hard Drives Twin 1Tb Barracuda archivage, Twin TV/PVR 2Tb Samsungs, (80Gb Barracuda for the OS, but SSD envisaged...) You should be able to configure this by right-clicking on your desktop and choosing "Screen resolution" - there you should be able to select a main monitor and enable extended desktop for the other one. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self built OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core i5-750 Motherboard ASUS P7P55D EVO Memory 8GB Crucial PC3-10600 Graphics Card XFX Radeon HD 5770 Sound Card Onboard VIA VT1828 Monitor(s) Displays 24" Dell Widescreen + 2 x 20" Dell (Std) Screen Resolution 5120 x 1200 Keyboard Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 Mouse Logitech G5 PSU Corsair HX850 Case Thermaltake Element S Cooling Stock Intel HSF (for now) Hard Drives 2 x 300GB Raptors, 2 x 500GB Barracudas Internet Speed 29.28 Mbps/1.91 Mbps Other Info We actually have 7 PC's in the household, the listed specs are from my main machine, the other 6:

Either DisplayFusion or Ultramon might do the job.
Wait and see what others suggest though, someone may have good links to decent freeware | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom built machine OS W7 x64 CPU Intel Q9300 2.5Ghz Quad LGA775 (Would like Q9650) Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3R (F6 Bios) Memory 4Gb OCZ Gold 1,333Mhz Graphics Card Palit HD4850 O/C Sonic 512Mb DDR3, Dual DViD's Sound Card Azalia to twin Samson 50w Studio Monitors Monitor(s) Displays Twin Dell (E-IPS) U2311H 23.6" Screens Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz Keyboard Cherry PS/2 custom model Mouse Logitech M500 Laser Mouse PSU OCZ 600w Case Lian-Li PC8 acoustifoamed' aluminium tower Cooling Scythe 140mm Zipang Hard Drives Twin 1Tb Barracuda archivage, Twin TV/PVR 2Tb Samsungs, (80Gb Barracuda for the OS, but SSD envisaged...) You'd need the Catalyst bundle for that, not merely the card driver package. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom built machine OS W7 x64 CPU Intel Q9300 2.5Ghz Quad LGA775 (Would like Q9650) Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3R (F6 Bios) Memory 4Gb OCZ Gold 1,333Mhz Graphics Card Palit HD4850 O/C Sonic 512Mb DDR3, Dual DViD's Sound Card Azalia to twin Samson 50w Studio Monitors Monitor(s) Displays Twin Dell (E-IPS) U2311H 23.6" Screens Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz Keyboard Cherry PS/2 custom model Mouse Logitech M500 Laser Mouse PSU OCZ 600w Case Lian-Li PC8 acoustifoamed' aluminium tower Cooling Scythe 140mm Zipang Hard Drives Twin 1Tb Barracuda archivage, Twin TV/PVR 2Tb Samsungs, (80Gb Barracuda for the OS, but SSD envisaged...)
