Well for the most part device drivers
are installed into the "C:\Windows\system32" and "C:\Windows\system32\drivers" sub folders by an installer. Each update you download will see it's own number where you can store those away in a separate folder by simply downloading to that directly.
Prereased drivers are also referred to as "beta" drivers with the advice of "use at own risk"! They are not the driver
sets you would see the Windows update site locate and install for you there.
The v1.0 driver is obviously the latest "out of beta" driver available for general use. The v1.1 being in beta form is one you have to go to NVidia directly for. For the present time you should stay with the v1.0 until the v1.1 is out of beta and available at the normail download site. Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers
