    another second monitor problem


    added a second monitor to my notebook a pavillion dv7 with my hdmi. the desktop shows on my tv when set to duplicate and extend, when i go to projector only my display on my notebook goes off but my tv gives an invalid format message. i am using windows 7

    Its ok to use smaller text.


    Please list the model projector that you have, I suspect windows is trying to use a higher resolution than the projector supports. Can you get both of the screens (the notebook and the projector) at the same time? If so please look in the display properties for the resolution the projector is using.

    Try updating your graphics card drivers. It may also help if you fill in your system specs.

    after 4 days and 2 hours on the phone with hp, i finally figured it out. i was setting my tv to for primary display but in my catalyst control center under basic i would set tv as primary and notebook as secondary but it wouldn't work. for some reason today i put my tv to primary and secondary instead as my notebook i put it to none and now it works. when i want to watch internet video's or what ever, i can turn off my display on my notebook with the projector only.
