I searched on the IBM site for that model (it's an S50), for graphics card and doesnt seem to have one available for W7 (or vista for that matter). It is a rather old model. I'll keep searching.

Maybe we'll go with the PCI Id of the device. in right-click the device in Device Manager, Properties and in Details tab, drop down menu to Hardware Id.

    What is it?
You can see ID in picture.

wddm 1.0 will support aero no problem. So that isnt your problem.
What does it mean?chrysalis! I tried pretty much to download wddm 1.0 drivers but I couldn't find them any where. You plz tell me.

Hi Happpy, I had a quick look at this thread, and was about to have a look for drivers for you however, these stupid 15" monitors at work make the image unreadable!
Could you go back to the details tab and hardware id's, then actually select all text, copy and paste it here?

WDDM 1.1 are preferred, but that adapter looks to be too old for Aero. What model IBM is it?

It means wddm 1.1 or 1.0 will work you dont need 1.1 for aero. So if your aero is not working it is not because of your version of wddm. I hope that clears up the confusion.

I'm far from being a master of this forum... just trying to perform some community service!
I've done a little research into your pc model, and, unfortunately it's not looking too good as far as graphics are concerned.
The IBM Thinkcentre 8138 doesn't have a PCI-E or AGP graphics expansion slot, only 2 X PCI slots. You may be able to find a working second hand (do they still make these?) PCI graphics card from somewhere, but it probably still wouldn't be enough to run Aero.
If you are on a very limited budget, you could consider replacing your motherboard with another socket 478 that has an AGP slot, or preferably,a PCI-E slot. You would then need to buy a graphics card to fit.
My advice would be to save your money and buy a better tower when you can afford it.

    Hello, Orpheous!

You mean I have to change my mother board? or another slot can be fit with same mother board? Can this mother board have another slot without changing? I have actually no harware experience.

What does it means? 2 X PCI? Means only 2 slots? It must be 3?

If I replace Graphic Card only then? I mean if I leave old graphic card then it must have a place for a new graphic card to be fit in.

OR New Windows 7 compatible graphic card cannot be fitted in this PC's slot?

Please clear me and sorry if you didn't understand my English. I am actually in hurry. If you didn't understand then plz tell me.
