7600GT aero problem

Aero is wonderful, wonderful... except when i open an avi file, a film. I get the film fine but with green static lines throughout if i make the window too large. if i go to 16 bit high colour, then all is well, but at 32 bit true color this happens. otherwise, this is fine. can anyone tell me anything about this problem/

thanks.

edit: been checking on google, one user reported similar problem with VLC and changed a config in the program by setting video output to DirectX. this in some way kills aero. tried it in VLC and it works. however i use BS player normally and have this problem in any player.

thinking my video card is not up to the task.

i updated to the latest 8.16.11.9107 after experiencing this. I am beginning to think it is the card itself as it occasionally for no reason displayed this same behaviour in win XP.
