    Facial Recognition Dimming

When I enable the facial recognition fast access, it dims the camera and starts panning around after I checked the webcam prior to activation (everything was fine) and I even downloaded all the drivers. Please help!

Hi, I would be happy to try to assist with your issue. I work for the company that makes the facial recognition software. A few details to get us started and then we can go from there.

    1. FastAccess simply does not contain a camera panning function. We do not have (and in fact would not WANT) that type of control. It would be detrimental to our recognition process. Some camera drivers do contain that function and we always recommend that it be turned OFF for optimum FastAccess performance.

    2. FastAccess also would not "dim the camera". I'm not entirely certain what you're seeing that leads to this statement and extra details may be helpful, but FastAccess simply attaches to the camera just like any other video application. It currently does not control the camera in any way - it just uses the video.

    3. Regarding your later post that the "camera was corrupted", again some additional details as to exactly what you're seeing would be helpful. The fact that you were able to de-install FastAccess with no change to the camera, however, is an indication to me that you may have had a corrupt camera driver all along. The simultaneous existance of FastAccess and an observable symptom certainly does not mean that one actually caused the other. Based on your description thus far, I STRONGLY suspect that there is some other problem at work here. Even if you didn't see the issue until you activated FastAccess, it's possible that the symptom with the camera driver didn't make itself evident until some program actually used the camera and in this case that program just happened to be FastAccess.

    4. If you can, tell me what version of FastAccess you had installed and on what platform (computer). I assume it's from Dell, but you didn't mention this detail. What OS and what camera you're using would also be good to know.

I hope that this is a helpfull place to start.
