What the heck could be the problem here?

Hey all, I have this odd problem....My screens resolution is far to small for my monitor..I didn't change ANY settings and it was working fine yesterday. And the screens resolution is at the highest and the exact same. What can be the problem? I'm desperate, I do web and graphic design so having a screen out of resolution is horrid. Help!

Does your monitor have an auto-adjust button? if so, press it. Also, right-click your desktop -> screen resolution -> detect. Use the recommended settings.
Hope this helps!
