Multiple monitors problem

I'm running Win7 Pro and having trouble getting the 2nd monitor recognized by the OS.

The system specs are:
Asus P5GDC-V motherboard w/ a Pentium 4 3.2GHz processor (and integrated graphics)
2GB RAM
XFX nVidia 7900GS w/ 256MB memory w/ 2 x DVI
2 x Dell 2407wfb monitors (1900 x 1200 resolution)

I've updated the drivers to the latest nVidia drivers. The OS simply will not recognize the second monitor. I've tried the nVidia control panel and it's "Rigorous detection" as well as Win 7's own Display Properties. The graphics card is recognized as Nvidia GeForce 7900 GS (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM) by Win7. I've tried reinstalling the drivers.

I've also tried 3 different monitors (as the second monitor) and swapped cables. Everything works fine on it's own.

The BIOS only has an option for "Primary Video". I have that set to PCI-E/PCI.

Is this setup just not capable of running dual monitors? Something else I should try?

Should they each work independently? Currently, only one of the ports will display an image. Even on the POST screen, only one of the ports will show an image. If it is a bad DVI port, I guess the question is which (inexpensive) video card would work?

Plug both monitors on your GFX card, do a system restart. Once in Windows, go to Nvidia control panel (btw, update your Nvidia driver, Microsoft Corporation - WDDM = Microsoft's Generic Nvidia Driver), go to "Set up multiple displays" menu, once you're there, you'll know what to do :)

ok dude listen up cuz i just registered a second ago to answer you. you're almost there, but when you hook up your second monitor you have to right click on the desktop and scroll down to like "output to" or something it's one of those collapsable arrow things. once you change the output you can THEN go into the windows thingy mabob and set up your multiple displays.
