Are you speaking of dedicated graphics RAM or shared system memory?
(I haven't recently seen discrete graphics cards that used other than graphics memory.) | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number homegrown OS Windows 7 Pro X64 SP1 CPU Intel Core I7-3930k Motherboard Asus P9X79 Pro Memory 16 GB Gskill DDR3-2133 Graphics Card eVGA GTX680 Sound Card Creative X-Fi Titanium Monitor(s) Displays As PA246Q Screen Resolution 1920 X 1200 Keyboard cheap Logitech USB Mouse Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer (old optical) USB PSU PCP&C Silencer 750 Crossfire Case Silverstone FT02 Cooling Noctua NH-D14 Hard Drives Corsair Force GT, 120 GB

if the above is the case..... 512mb GDDR3 is far better than, 128mb GDDR2 | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number myself OS SEVEN x64 CPU Q9450 @ 3.6GHZ 1.34v Motherboard ASUS P5K PREMIUM P35 Memory 8GB 1066 buffalo firestix @ 1152mhz CL5 Graphics Card Sapphire HD 5970 + GTX260 (physX) Sound Card Creative X-FI Xtreme Gamer Monitor(s) Displays SAMSUNG 20'' & SAMSUNG 23'' (dual screens) Screen Resolution 2048x1152 & 1680x1050 Keyboard LOGITECH E110 Mouse logitech NX5 PSU XCILIO 850w (78A) Case CM590 1x 120x38mm & 2x92x38mm / 4x 120x25mm Cooling AC7 PRO @ 92x38mm blower, Lamptron military bus bay controll Hard Drives 1x seagate 160gb IDE & 1x seagate 160gb SATA Internet Speed 2MB Other Info its a continual ''work in progress''.... |

Well i dont know if its onboard or not. I was comparing 2 laptops.
1 had 512 MB DDR3 Dedicated memory
the other had 128 MB GDDR2 Dedicated memory. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Toshiba Satellite L505D-S9565 OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64, Mac OS X 10.6.2 x64 CPU AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core 2.1 GHz Motherboard Toshiba Built-In with Insyde H20 BIOS 1.40 Memory 4 GB DDR2 800 MHz Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD Mobility 3100 Graphics 256MB to 1468 MB Shared Sound Card Realtek Mobile ALC272 HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays 15.6" TFT LCD with TruBrite, Samsung 1080p HDTV Screen Resolution 1366x768, 1920x1080 Keyboard Built-in Mouse Build-in Symantics SmartTouch Pad PSU N/A Case N/A Cooling Built-in/Open window in winter :P Hard Drives ❶:Main: Toshiba 250 GB SATA 5400 RPM Internet Speed 55 MB/sec Down, 9 MB/sec Up Other Info ❷:Backup: Seagate FreeAgent Desk USB 2.0 5400 RPM

They're referring to two different parts. DDR3 is system ram. GDDR is graphics ddr, for your video card. Look at them both again. The DDR3 rig will have a graphics card, either third party or onboard, and the GDDR rig will have system RAM. | My System Specs | | OS 7 Ultimate x64 CPU i5-2500k Motherboard Asus P8P67 Pro Memory 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-12800CL7D-8GBXH 1866MHz 8-9-8-24 Graphics Card EVGA GTX 570 SC Sound Card X-Fi Titanium Fatality Monitor(s) Displays Samsung S27A550H 27" LED Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard MS Natural Elite 4000 Ergonomic Mouse Logitech G500 PSU PC Power & Cooling Silencer 760 Case Lian Li Lancool K62 Cooling Thermalright Venomous X Black/Scythe S-Flex/Shin-Etsu X23 Hard Drives OCZ Vertex 3 120GB.

Well I dont get it then, I just checked again and under the catagory 'Graphics Memory Type' it says 512 MB DDR3 on one and 128 GDDR2 on the other.
Both of the system RAM said it was DDR2. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Toshiba Satellite L505D-S9565 OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64, Mac OS X 10.6.2 x64 CPU AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core 2.1 GHz Motherboard Toshiba Built-In with Insyde H20 BIOS 1.40 Memory 4 GB DDR2 800 MHz Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD Mobility 3100 Graphics 256MB to 1468 MB Shared Sound Card Realtek Mobile ALC272 HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays 15.6" TFT LCD with TruBrite, Samsung 1080p HDTV Screen Resolution 1366x768, 1920x1080 Keyboard Built-in Mouse Build-in Symantics SmartTouch Pad PSU N/A Case N/A Cooling Built-in/Open window in winter :P Hard Drives ❶:Main: Toshiba 250 GB SATA 5400 RPM Internet Speed 55 MB/sec Down, 9 MB/sec Up Other Info ❷:Backup: Seagate FreeAgent Desk USB 2.0 5400 RPM

It might just be a typo on the first? It's really not that big a deal anyway... it's not the memory that sets cards apart, it's the gpu. If you showed us both cards, we could just tell you which one was better. | My System Specs | | OS 7 Ultimate x64 CPU i5-2500k Motherboard Asus P8P67 Pro Memory 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-12800CL7D-8GBXH 1866MHz 8-9-8-24 Graphics Card EVGA GTX 570 SC Sound Card X-Fi Titanium Fatality Monitor(s) Displays Samsung S27A550H 27" LED Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard MS Natural Elite 4000 Ergonomic Mouse Logitech G500 PSU PC Power & Cooling Silencer 760 Case Lian Li Lancool K62 Cooling Thermalright Venomous X Black/Scythe S-Flex/Shin-Etsu X23 Hard Drives OCZ Vertex 3 120GB.
