Windows 7 resolution problem on an older system

I have an HP Pavilion a1357c it is about 4-5 yrs old. My monitor is an Acer x203h I believe it is a 22" lcd flat screen. The highest resolution I can go up to is 1024x768. Everything looks big. Is their anyway this could be fixed? If not I may have to go back to XP. Any help would be appreciated.

This is the desktop I have

The xpress series are unfortunatly only supported by the vendor, so if HP decideds it's not worth their time to release Windows 7 drivers for that card, then you're SOL.

Most probably, these will NOT work!

Because ... ATI dropped support for these cards last May.

All that is available now are "legacy" drivers -- which are NOT the ones found by Googling. Those drivers are the current ones and will NOT work this this card.

ATI Catalyst Legacy Display Driver - Click me

The xpress series is supported in this Legacy Cat driver Vista/Win7 x86/x64.

Might as well try them, though the Xpress 200 is not listed as one of the cards it works for, because it's a vendor only type card.

You could also try the 9.12 hotfix driver GPU42ATICatalyst9.12Hotfix Couldn't hurt. but it sounds like Zen00 Knows what he's talking about. Here's all I could find on the xpress 200 chipset from ATI/AMD. Don't know if it will be of any help.http://support.amd.com/us/psearch/Pa...ords=&items=20. If your device manager doesn't list your LCD as the X203 H you can try installing the driver from here http://support.acer.com/drivers_download.aspx Best wishes. Fabe

    lefabe - he's got a desktop & 9.12 don't include any legacy cards device id's

the Legacy Cat's have all the xpress series device id's.
    including
    "ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series" = ati2mtag_RC410, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5A61
    "ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series " = ati2mtag_RS400, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5A41
    "ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series " = ati2mtag_RS480, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5954

It will install as a WDDM driver.
